Now kids can get into the Zumba craze and they don’t have to go far. The city of Haines City is offering this dose of fused, hypnotic, musical rhythms through the Parks and Recreation Department. The moves, which create a workout, are being taught to children ages 4 to 12 at the Haines City Community Center, 555 Ledwith Ave.

A BODY building Tamworth mum wowed judges with her honed physique to claim a top award on her competition debut. Kelly Davis scooped the “Yummy Mummy” prize from a field of 22 competitors at last weekend’s Miss Galaxy Universe event held at the NEC in Birmingham. The event is supported by Birmingham City Football Club, with special guests showing off their best moves during the two hour dance fest. It is one of five Big Purple Zumba Parties being hosted across the country to help make a difference to the lives of the 112,000 young people aged 25 and under in the UK living with the condition.

ROSES to the “shoppers” in the Pottstown School District who have spent $16,000 in downtown Pottstown as part of the Buy Local challenge. Sheila Dugan, president of the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority, reported to borough council that the staff and parents at Rupert Elementary School jumped out ahead in the school district challenge with more than $8,000 in local purchases. Students and parents who get their downtown receipts stamped can drop them off at their school to add to that building’s total
